This is the beef lasagne that uses my bolognaise recipe found in my freezer meal video. See below.

INGREDIENTS:

1 single batch of bolognaise ( see recipe collection for this recipe)

1 cup Butter

1 cup Flour

1 Litre of whole milk

2 cups cheddar cheese

Salt and pepper

Dry lasagne noodles

Sprinkle of paprika ( optional)

Sprinkle of fresh Italian herbs ( optional)

METHOD:

  1. Make Bolognaise as per recipe.

  2. Make béchamel by melting butter in a saucepan over med heat.

  3. add the flour all at once and mix to combine- keep stiring until the mixture 'balls' away from the sides... ( see video)

  4. Add the milk and whisk to remove any lumps and remove from the heat. The sauce will thicken as it cools.

  5. Add the cheese and mix to melt. Season with salt and pepper.

To assemble:

  1. spray your pan with oil and start by layering the dry noodles with the bolognaise mixture and the occasional béchamel layer ( or left over cannelloni mix if you happen to have it.)

  2. Continue layering until you reach the last layer which needs to be the béchamel sauce.

  3. Top with more grated cheese and sprinkle with the herbs and paprika ( if using)

This is now ready to be baked in the oven at 180C for 30-40mins or allow to cool and then wrap with foil and cling wrap before placing into he freezer for a meal another day.
